  9. Long: Yamaha XG configured DEMO  Standard  MIDI  Files  (SMF) both file
  10. formats 0 and 1. These  contain  SYSEX  data  for  GM On and additional
  11. SYSEX strings for  the  XG  range  of  synths  which  is  particular to
  12. themselves! XG Synths that is!

  14. * Key: 0 indicates a 0 (zero) format Standard MIDI File (SMF)
  15.        1 indicates a 1 (one)  format Standard MIDI File (SMF)

  17. The SMFs in this archive will only  play correctly on a Yamaha XG synth
  18. `cos they don`t play the correct GM drum  kits on my Korg i3 which they
  19. should because the Korg i3 has a GM facility!

  22. 1. Bird of Paradise by Snowy White (was guitarist in Thin Lizzy)
  23. 2. Gat Kirwani (cool Indian Sitar/Tabla based percussion score)
  24. 3. Swamp Thing by The Grid (remember the dude with the banjo?)
  25. 4. Topsy (Cab Calloway Big band type Jazz Peice)

  27. The  SMF  files  here  have  been   edited  in  another  archive  which
  28. accompanies this XGDEMOS.lha  and   XGDEMOS.readme  archive. Therefore,
  29. the SMF`s in  the  XGDEMOGM.lha   archive   should  play  correctly  on
  30. GM/GS synths..

  32. All copyright notices for Yamaha  have  been respected (the SMFs didn`t
  33. have a (c) notice actually but I`ve embedded  one in each of the 4 SMFs
  34. anyway! That way you know  who  originally  produced the files and that
  35. they were  probably  demo  files  accompanying  a  Yamaha  manufactured
  36. synthersizer with XG MIDI facilities..

  38. Making these SMFs  available  on  the  NET  is  not  an  infringment of
  39. copyright but simply a means of making these files available to a wider
  40. audience so other MIDI freaks  can  appreciate the professional quality
  41. of these MIDI arrangements..

  43. If you`d  like  to  play  the  edited  GM/GS  versions  then  look  for
  44. XGDEMOGM.lha and the  XGDEMOGM.readme  that  accompanies this archive..
  45. Use  Janne Syväniemi`s MIDIPlay 2.65b available in aminet/mus/midi  its
  46. probably  the  best SMF  player  available  on  the  Amiga!  I think so
  47. anyway =:-) Please register with the author, you won`t be disappointed!

  55. I`m a Music-X/SMF expert  with  my  own  recording  studio using Amigas
  56. (A2000. A1200 and a A500+), I`ve also   had  an audio CD called "A Drop
  57. in the Ocean" released  with  my  co-composer  brother, where all music
  58. was sequenced using Amigas..  Some  Amiga  musicians/MIDI freaks on the
  59. NET  may  remember me from the AM/FM magazine which  was  published  on
  60. floppy  disk  by  Bjørn  Lynne (Dr. Awesome)  a couple of years ago.  I
  61. used to write arcticles and  produce  MIDI  music  for AM/FM as one  of
  62. The  Craft Brothers..  I've  taken  AM/FM  over  and   now   publish  a
  63. similar  music  based  disk  magazine called MIDICraft Magazine and I'm
  64. onto issue #11 already..
